Still on the bazaar I went to last Sunday. I bought some "Waterboy Ice Stick Bottles" -- these are really big, colorful water bottles where you can fill this tube-like container with water, freeze it, put it back in the bottle, and you have iced water to go. [more]

In a recent gathering, Gloria Arroyo refers to media as a bad boy and asks media to focus more on good news rather than bad news. The way I see it, I think media has just been pretty much doing its job of reporting what it sees and hears. [more]

On November 11 (or 11/11), that's tomorrow, GMA 7 will launch a sister station known as QTV 11 which they say stands for quality TV. We shall see in the coming months just what they mean by "quality" although from their print ads, I don't really see much difference nor do any of the programs strike me as "truly watchable." [more]

The first thing that caught our eye as we passed by this coffee kiosk were their pan de sal (a locally made bread which translates to bread made of salt) offerings. They had everything my dad liked, from Chinese ham (hok shiu) – which Manuel searched for endlessly in Hong Kong to Hamon de Punda – which I searched for endlessly in Bukidnon.

The complex is open from 12 noon to 12 midnight and makes for an interesting visit. We arrived at about 4:30 pm, successfully found a parking slot (parking is free), and spent about 3 hours going around the place. [more]
