Pro-impeachment congressmen walked out in exasperation yesterday while the latest word is that the amended impeachment complaint will not be considered and that it is expected that the Lozano complaint will not be acted on for lack of substance. My "formerly pink" school is now giving out forms and materials to parents with kids who wish to apply for Kinder 1, Kinder 2, and Kinder 3 for School Year 2006-2007. Application forms will be available at the Registrar's Office from August 8 to August 26 for Kinder 1 while those applying for Kinder 2 and 3 can obtain the forms from Ocotber 3-21, 2005. [more]

We were at the Exporters' Fair at SM Megamall about two weekends ago and managed to catch up with Isabe Ocliasa, owner of The Yellow Violet House. We met her a year ago, also at the Exporters' Fair and bought some hand-made photo albums, greeting cards, and journals to give away last Christmas 2004. [more]

We finally caught the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last weekend and it was fun! My son and I had read the book while Daddy is just about to read it but we all thought the movie, featuring Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore, was one of the most entertaining and better-made movies we've seen in a long time. Everytime the surveys reveal that PGMA's rating has dropped, we can expect the people at Malacaņang to come out with a statement that being president is not a matter of popularity. Sadly, though, the way elections and electoral campaigns are run in our country, the Philippines, the presidential post usually goes to the most popular and the popular choice is more often than not, not the best nor the most qualified as history has shown.
