Team RP Press Conference

Are you interested to see a better Philippines in your lifetime? Are you tired of just watching from the sidelines and wish to do something concrete so we can have a better Philippines sooner?

Then, you may want to hear what Team RP has to say this February 23, 2008, at 10:30am. Team RP is a new youth-led initiative that aims to push for truth, accountability and reform in Philippine governance.

I got an e-mail from Nines Terol of Team RP inviting interested Filipinos to a press conference. This will be held at Room 200, 2nd Floor CCS Building, Social Development Complex, Ateneo de Manila University Campus, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. All media groups, youth organizations and other interested parties are welcome to come and hear Team RP's message for fellow Filipinos.

If you are interested to attend or if you wish to learn more about Team RP, you can get in touch with Mr. Harvey Keh, Chief Spokesperson of Team RP at 426-5657 in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Team RP is open to all Filipinos who wish to help out and who recognize that we are all part of one country, one team. Team RP is non-partisan and aims to work towards long-term reforms. The youth is core to Team RP considering their energy and idealism.

Initially, a concert and volunteer recruitment are also being planned. Details will be finalized by February 23, 2008 and will be announced during the press conference. Targeted date and time for this is February 25, 2008 at 5pm as of now.

I attended a launch some months ago and got hold of a copy of Nina's Travel Sketches by Nina Lim-Yuson. Travel Sketches features Nina's personal sketches of places she has visited and come in three versions, if I remember correctly -- Philippines, Asia, and Europe and America. I bought the one which featured her sketches of places in the Philippines for myself and to give away. I was lucky enough to have Nina personally sign the copies that I bought and was particularly touched by her short message: "My favorite is our one country."

The Philippines is my favorite too. It's the only country that I have and wish to live in in the years to come. So good luck to Team RP. Good luck to all of us. May the force be with all of us --- Precious...
