The Undecideds

"Men must be decided on what they will not do, and then they are able to act with vigor on what they ought to do." - Mencius, a Chinese Philosopher

Have been running my own Pulse Angel and SWS (Sana Wag Susan's) surveys with people I know and am amazed that two months to elections, there are still quite a number of people who have not decided on whom to vote for. The good news is when you ask these people, they reply: "Nag-iisip pa." or "Still thinking." To me, that's a good sign.

One thing that I have observed too is that they also know whom not to vote for. "Basta hindi si FPJ or si PGMA." "Huwag lang si FPJ or si Lacson."

As for those who have made up their minds, I suppose, it will take quite a lot to change their choice. I was talking to my dad the other day, right after a TV interview of his chosen bet. "Ano, si *bleep* pa din ba ang iboboto mo?"

Daddy: Oo. Bakit?

Angel: Baka kasi di mo nagustahan ang mga sagot.

Daddy: Kahit ano pang isagot nun.

Well. Have heard a lot of negative stories about Raul Roco too (that he's a wife beater, that he's mercurial, that he can't work well with others, etc., etc.) but I have yet to hear anyone say anything that will make me change my mind so far.

So, to the "decideds," I hope we have chosen well. We'll have to work on the undecideds, I suppose - whom I think will swing this election in favor of a particular candidate. As I always say, Brother Eddie (Villanueva, not Gil) may yet surprise everyone. As for Eddie Gil, surprise may not be the appropriate word.
