Brightening Up the World With Prayer

October 2002 to October 2003, if I'm not mistaken, has been designated as the Year of the Holy Rosary. There's a whole new set of mysteries, in fact, that we meditate on every Thursday - the Luminous Mysteries.

Following are the Luminous Mysteries:

First Decade: The Baptism of Our Lord in the River Jordan
Second Decade: The Wedding at Cana, when Christ manifested Himself
Third Decade: The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Fourth Decade: The Transfiguration of Our Lord
Fifth Decade: The Last Supper, when Our Lord gave us the Holy Eucharist

This season is a good time to reflect and pray. So amidst the gift-giving, parties, and festivities, let us slow down a bit and pause...and pray...

When things look glum, I sometimes ask my friends to say a prayer for me. And before I realize it, I feel better. So take time to pray for others, for your family. That may yet be the best thing you can give this season and always.
