Bandwidth Theft happens wittingly or unwittingly when someone displays on their web site an image found on your web site. It is theft because you pay for the data transferred, but another web site "benefits" because they can spruce up their web page with your image file... for free. This practice is also called hotlinking. [more]

Digitel seen spending $260M for 2004 telecom expansion -- "We expect about 250 million dollars in (capital expenditure) for wireless. Hopefully we'll get it below that, but that is the working number for the wireless business. For fixed line, it's minimal. Maybe 10 million to 12 million dollars, Digitel president and chief executive Lance Gokongwei told reporters in a recent interview."

Sounds exciting... but what about our old cellphone numbers? Updating phonebooks and texting all our friends about our new number can be quite a hassle. [more]
