Samsung ML 2010 Band Error

My Samsung ML 2010 laser printer stopped working last night and gave the cryptic "band error" message.

For some strange reason, hardly anyone has blogged about this type of Samsung printer error. A quick search via Google, Yahoo, MSN and even Ixquick shows either a "my printer produced an all-black sheet of paper" or pretty much nothing else.

In my case, although there was paper in the tray, the printer wouldn't even feed the sheet. Could it be that "band error" refers to the part of the printer that pulls the printer into the system? Given the "all black" comment I saw on the web, does that mean that the error refers to "color band"?

Anyway, I'm still investigating this weird printer error. Since the toner has been getting a bit light (as in, the prinout is still quite legible; it's just the large, shaded or dark rectangular areas where you'll see irregularities in the toner application), I'll most likely try inserting a brand new laser printer toner cartridge and see if that solves the problem.

What about you? Have you also experienced the Samsung ML 2010 band error? How did you fix it? Thanks!
