Non-Working Holidays in December 2008

People have been asking about Philippine holidays for December 2008.

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation 1463, and in accordance with Republic Act 9492, the regular non-working holiday observation of Bonifacio Day shall be moved from November 30, 2008 (Sunday), to December 1, 2008 (Monday).

In other words, while Bonifacio Day was traditionally celebrated on November 30, the non-working holiday will now be the Monday nearest to November 30.

Now pursuant to the same Republic Act, Malacañang has declared the following official holidays:

December 1 (Monday) Bonifacio Day
December 25 (Thursday) Christmas Day
December 30 (Tuesday) Rizal Day
January 1, 2009 (Thursday) New Year's Day

Special Non-Working Days:

December 26 (Friday) Additional special non-working day
December 29 (Monday) Additional special non-working day
December 31 (Wednesday) Last Day of the Year

And those are the Philippine holidays in the remaining weeks of the year 2008.
