MSI Wind

Should I get an MSI Wind? It seems that the main problem lies with its small touchpad.

And yes, some people say the Asus Eee PC is made of sturdier material, yet there are people who don't go around flipping their notebooks or netbooks into their backpacks. And there are others who have a small workspace and prefer to have an MSI Wind serve as a desktop.

Then there's also the price (lower than than the Asus), and the fun colors (i.e., Pink!).

Where can we find more info? Check these out...

MSIWind.net is a blog that gives you the latest news, updates, and tidbits about this increasingly popular UMPC or netbook.

Gizmodo.com MSI Wind Review explains that the large screen and keyboard were the winning factors (over the Asus Eee). The MSI Wind's battery, however, leaves much to be desired (less than two hours). Perhaps they'll come out with a 6-cell battery in the next few months?

LaptopMag.com's MSI Wind Review's final verdict: "best all-around min-notebook to date." The review was updated last July 30, 2008 and I was surprised to read that the battery was good for 5 hours of use. (UPDATE: The 6-cell battery has enough juice for 5 hours.)

NOD32 AntiVirus seems to be the favorite anti virus software that MSI Wind users install in their machines. Others use Avast because it is free.

TipidPC.com post comparing Asus Eee 1000H vs MSI Wind -- it looks like Asus takes better care of its customers?

MSI Wind WiFi problems? Well, there is an easy fix: "Flash the .107 BIOS and then reinstall the latest WLAN driver from MSI's site."

Anyway, if you still on the fence with MSI Wind, check out the forums over at http://forums.msiwind.net
