Intelli Guitar Tuner and Flat Notes

The Intelli Guitar Tuner has a Flat tune correction, which allows you to easily tune your guitar up to 4 flat notes below the normal pitch.

It also has a calibrate button which allows you to set the A note at a frequency different from the standard 440 Hz.

Since A-flat has a frequency of 415.3 Hz, simply calibrate your Intelli Guitar Tuner IMT 101 to this number, and your strings will be tuned to half a tune lower than normal.

(UPDATE: I can calibrate the tuner only within the 430 Hz and 449 Hz range.)

I tried experimenting with the "watch the pointer technique", but when I played A-flat, the tuner thought I was plucking the G string. That's why the tuner was moving the pointer to the right, instead of to the left.

That's why it is quite difficult to adjust your guitar's pitch to half a step below the normal by simply keeping the pointer one stripe to the left of the middle.

It's better to use the "Flat" adjustment buttons of the electronic guitar tuner.
