Philippine Media and Blogging

Do you hear the electronic rumbling of blogs and Philippine media?

Jayvee Fernandez starts The Blog and Soul Movement, which "aims to establish blogging as a relevant part of Philippine media."

Traditionally, members of media (newspaper / radio) are invited to events, so that they can help increase awareness about those activities and the companies behind them. Since personalities in media have a significant reach in the Philippines, companies readily invite these writers or broadcasters to inaugurations, branch openings, and the like.

But what about bloggers?

What if you're a blogger and you would like to meet new people, perhaps at media events? What if you would like to help build a community where you can improve your blogging and writing skills, or even share some of your knowledge with other budding online publishers?

That's what The Blog and Soul Movement wants to achieve.

They've talked about Mrs. Fields, Blogger Food Critique and Photography Class, Goodyear Media Roundtable, Team Pilipinas, Nike Believer Event, and other blogger events. There are more projects in the pipeline, so if you're interested, please check out The Blog and Soul Movement and see how you can participate.
