Poetry Workshop with Rio Alma

Now's your chance to join a poetry workshop with renowned poet Rio Alma (National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario).

The Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA) will start its annual poetry clinic on 02 June 2007, with a lecture by LIRA founder and workshop director Virgilio S. Almario.

The lecture is entitled Reklamasyon ng Pambansang Gunita (Reclaiming National Memory) will begin at 1:30pm at Room 201 of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

Registration begins at 1:00pm, and the lecture is free and open to the public.

LIRA (which began in 1985) is an organization of poets who write in Filipino. It has provided poets such as Roberto and Rebecca Añonuevo, Romulo Baquiran, Jr., Michael Coroza, Jerry Gracio, and Vim Nadera a venue for the discussion and critique of poetry.
