Are Painless Mammograms Bad?

Women dread mammograms because it's painful. But if you do find a gentle mammogram tech, is it time to rejoice?

In Help Me Find A Gentle Mammo Tech, Lillie Shockney writes that:

By tightly compressing the breast tissue so it's as flat as possible, the mammo tech is more able to get a clear image of it.

So if you don't feel discomfort, it's possible that the mammogram image taken isn't that clear. I am not a doctor, yet the article written by a registered nurse makes me wonder whether finding a not-that-painful mammo is actually worth it.
