Convert PDF to Excel

There are software available online that can help you export or convert your PDF file into MS Excel.

These different PDF conversion software have diverse ways of handling the PDF to Excel process (i.e., SolidPDF). Fortunately, most of them offer a free trial download, which allows you to assess if you enjoy using that particular type of PDF converting software.

Please take note that not all PDF files can be converted into Excel. I'm assuming you would like to do some manipulation or number crunching in Excel, so if the PDF file contains scanned tables, you will end up with a spreadsheet filled with images, rather than regular text.

If you're working with images in Excel, you will be unable to apply mathematical formulas to them.

If you are not satisfied with the free trial version of those PDF to Excel conversion programs, you can always email the person who sent you the PDF file and ask for the source of that document. Chances are, it will be the original spreadsheet.

Why do people bother to email PDF files in the first place? The files are smaller and do not contain risky macro code.
