PLDT DSL Selective Web SitesI'm posting this entry while connecting via I-Manila, because PLDT's DSL service is quite selective today. When I logged on via PLDT myDSL awhile ago, the local web sites appeared blazingly fast. Accessing servers hosted outside the Philippines, however, is a completely different story. I just don't know why the Speakeasy Speedtest site shows that the PLDT DSL 256 kbps connection is able to download at speeds of as high as 1450 kbps. Yet when I visit the usual sites hosted in Florida and Texas, it takes forever to load the page. Yes, surfing is surprisingly faster with a dial-up rather than a broadband connection. I wonder what's up. How fast is your broadband connection? Try the Speakeasy Speedtest today. UPDATE: The PLDT DSL service is working again (Apr 9, 2006).
