PLDT DSL Feedback

The PLDT P999/month 256 Kbps DSL Package looks interesting, so I asked someone for feedback.

My relative who lives in San Juan has these comments:

+ P1,995 for 256 Kbps (apparently she subscribed many months ago before the prices started dropping)
+ Service is often not available (around two times a month).
+ When DSL service is not available, it's down for at least two days.

Since I don't live in San Juan, I'll probably try the PLDT P999 DSL Package. A similar package would be Sky Cable's ZP Dee cable internet -- P975/month for 256 Kbps for existing Sky Cable subscribers.

The differences:

1. ZP Dee requires a P2,000 deposit (for the cable modem) plus one month's advance (P975). PLDT's DSL P999 has no other fees.

2. ZP Dee (cable internet) has one line servicing a particular neighborhood. The more cable internet subscribers, the slower (theoretically) the speed. DSL has one phone line per subscriber, so your surfing speed shouldn't be affected too much by the increase in subscribers.

Are you a PLDT DSL subscriber or a ZP Dee cable internet subscriber? Please let me know what you think about their service, to help me decide which one to choose. Thanks!
