Weekend Market at Christ the King, Greenmeadows

For the whole month of October 2007, Christ the King (CTK) Parish in Greenmeadows and the Catholic Women's League (CWL) will be having a Weekend Market at CTK. This will run Saturdays and Sundays.

I dropped by yesterday (although the formal blessing of the market is today) and got a few items. I was able to buy some candied walnuts (they say walnuts help increase your good cholesterol and also lower your bad cholesterol), yummy chinese lumpia and misua noodles, and smoked ham with orange peel and pineapple sauce -- which you can buy in various sizes: whole or 1/4, 1/2 or 1 kilo.

Do check the weekend market out. Funds raised from the rental of stalls at the weekend market go to parish projects so you'll have access to all that yummy and interesting stuff while helping the parish out.

Here are the contact numbers of some of the suppliers yesterday:

Bia's Kitchen at 534-3896 or 532-1091. I liked their misua noodles -- which had a lot of meat and veggie toppings and even had peanuts! Their chinese lumpia was good too.

Joy's Smoke House for the ham. You may contact Erlinda L. Bautista at 524-2891 or at +63 920 902 6322. Joy's Smoke House is located at 1321 Perez, Paco, Manila.

The suppliers can change from weekend to weekend so try to drop by as often. If you would like to rest a bit on any weekend this month of October, this may be your chance to escape having to cook some meals and still have yummy food for your family to enjoy. =)
