The Pounds of Christmas Past

Christmas in the Philippines is not yet officially over, but unofficially, I have already gained 4 pounds. How many pounds have you gained?

The Christmas Season here in the Philippines will last till this coming Sunday, January 7 -- when we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, if am not mistaken. Actually, the Philippines is known to have one of the longest running Christmas celebrations. We start getting into the Christmas mood by September (when the "ber" months come along) and by the time Advent or Simbang Gabi starts, everyone is just thinking Christmas.

Sorry about that long break since before Christmas. We are fine. We were just attending to lots of Christmas parties - family and relatives; friends; officemates - you name it, we partied. =) Kaya masaya ang Pasko sa Pilipinas. We were also gift wrapping gifts frantically and of course, we also took time out to pray and reflect. Most of all, we ate! There's just too much food during Christmas -- lechon, leche flan, fruit salad. Is it any wonder that a friend of mine has gained 10 pounds?

My four additional pounds, actually, is an achievement in itself. I used to gain 8 to 10 pounds during the holiday season but for some reason, I didn't pig out as much last/this year. Maybe it was my worry about my cholesterol levels.

Anyway, it's back to dieting for you and I. Am sure to lose those Christmas pounds. This year, I aim to keep my weight steady during Christmas 2007 (Bwahahahaha -- canned laughter in the background.)
