That is so true about anything we do. Our heart must be in it -- otherwise, things will just turn out blah. What am I passionate about? Family, travel, writing, eating, being Pinoy and staying put right here. Come to think of it, we have been on the web for more than 10 years now. If we didn't enjoy having this website, we would have been gone years ago.

Speaking of passion, I read in the papers that Filipino mountain climber Romy Garduce is off to Nepal and will be climbing Mt. Everest this May. No Filipino has yet conquered this highest peak. Mabuhay ka, Romy Garduce. May you survive the climb and may you come back strong and healthy. Why does he even do it or bother to put himself at risk? I'll give you one guess.

Asked what he would want to do after conquering Everest, he says he'll rest a bit and find something else, like crossing the Sahara. "There are more dangerous and difficult mountains to climb." What about the mountain called Malacanang? If he can successfully be the first Pinoy to climb Everest, might he be able to put things together in this country? Just a thought and not a serious one. I don't think Romy wants to do anything that dangerous and difficult. ;-)
