IT 84 High School Reunion (Poveda Learning Centre)

There were 33 girls (ok, ladies) out of a batch of 86 who came. Has it really been 20 years? Yes, it has been that long but looking around the room, I'd say the batch aged (well, everybody has to age...) pretty well.

Thanks to the organizers who really put in a lot of effort to make the coming together for the 20th year very memorable. From the food, to the games, to the theme, to the prizes, and loot bags! We all got a collection of songs from the 1980s (e.g. Whip It, My Sharona) and things like Texas Bubblegum, Chocnut, Butter Ball, Plastic Balloon, etc., etc. Pinag-isipan at pinaghirapan talaga. What do you expect from girls who lived on "Individual Work" or IW for about 12 years? Thanks also are in order for the slide show which entertained everyone and which had all guessing who those young-looking people were...

The group was a good mix of corporate people (aka as employees), entrepreneurs (those who provide employment), doctors (with one working for the very famous Dr. Vicky Belo although lipo is not her specialization, shucks!), full-time mothers, and a pastor. Wala ata kaming lawyer? Any lawyers in the group? Frequently asked questions were: What do you do? Do you have kids? Are you married?

One classmate flew in all the way from New York (ok, she was really due for a vacation here) and brought pictures of their reunion in Las Vegas with other US-based classmates. They also looked so well!

So, to the 50 or so girls whom we did not see last weekend, maybe we can get together in the next few years? Sometime mid-September or thereabouts? By the way, our 25th year will be in 2009 and it was agreed that each will give an upfront donation of P2,500.

See you all on our 21st year! Pictures are posted and if you are part of the IT84 e-group, you know where it is. If you are not part of the e-group, please write me at this website and I will let you know where the pics are. I will likewise refer you to Madonna, este Gege, who is the moderator of the e-group.

Again, to the organizers: Tess Mascuņana, Lenlen Quesada, Miren Ortigas, Rachel Samson, Ann Roque, Lisa Ventura, Rizette de los Reyes, Gege Cruz, and Piepet Sambrano, thanks a lot! To all the entrepreneurs who raffled off their goods or gave freebies, salamat din. To all who came, it was really nice to see all of you. Till the next year. :-)
