Reverse Generation Gap

My son Adi and I were busy with his stickers the other day. It was quite quiet in our room that I wanted to play some music.

My brother and his family had given me the "Gregorian Chant" as a gift last Christmas. I wanted to listen to it, right then and there but I decided to ask Adi first.

"Let's listen to some music, Adi. Let's listen to the Gregorian Chant."

"No," Adi replied.

I persisted and stated again: "Let's listen. Mommy wants to listen."

"I don't like to listen." Adi said. "I want some peace and quiet."

I found his answer so surprising, the room remained silent.
