Citibank Citi Cash Back Card

Have you seen the latest card launched by Citibank? It's the Citi Cash Back Card.

I wonder if this will have an effect on network marketing MLM companies who offer rebates to their independent distributors.

With the new Citi Cash Back Titanium MasterCard, you are basically getting a rebate card which you can use on daily purchases and expenses (e.g., groceries, home utility bills).

You'll get a 5% rebate on all supermarket purchases at all groceries, during all the days of the year. Plus, you also get 0.5 percent rebate all other purchases.

For Meralco, PLDT landline and myDSL bills, you'll get a 5 percent rebate (until December 31, 2010). To avail of this, simply enroll your utility bill account in Citi One Bill, or pay via Citibank Online.

Some customers can save as much as P12,000 per calendar year. Assuming they're getting the full 5% rebate, that means they're charging around P20,000 monthly (for groceries, electricity, communication, and internet).

Let's do some guesstimates:

PLDT myDSL + Landline - P1,000
Meralco - P4,000
Groceries - P15,000

For more information about the new Citi Cash Back Card, please call the 24-hour CitiPhone at 995.999 or visit www.citibank.com.ph

Not bad, eh? P1,000 a month in rebates is pretty good. That's probably more than the rebates earned by some network marketers and various MLM distributors. Time to revise that marketing plan, right? ;-)
