Asus Eee: Is It For You?

You've seen that cute and highly portable Asus Eee PC in the store shelf. Is it for you?

Before you yield to the "Get an Asus Eee PC Now!" temptation, ask yourself the following:

1. Do you make lots of presentations each week, and do you need to make last minute adjustments to your slides?

If not, then maybe your current computer plus a USB thumbdrive will be the ideal mobile presentor's solution for you.

2. Do you like to type things wherever you may be, and do you type slowly?

If you don't find yourself scribbling away, or if you type faster than 40 wpm, then you might be better off with a paper notebook, or an Asus Eee with an external keyboard.

3. Do you keep a video diary?

If you do, then the built-in webcam of the Eee will be a boon to your mobile vlogging interest.

4. Do you like people to go "Oooh!" and "Aaah!" for the first two times they see you whip out your Asus Eee PC? What are you waiting for? Go get one today!

I guess it boils down to finding out what your habits and activities are, and see if the Asus will help you do your current tasks faster or better. If you still have to invent or perform new tasks just to maximize the use of your Asus, then you might want to consider holding off on purchasing that mini sub-notebook in the meantime.
