YouTube Disaster

Have you ever experienced uploading a video to YouTube, only to experience disaster?

That's what happened awhile ago, when I tried to upload a 38MB video file to YouTube.

I shot the video using a digicam (AVI format), then edited it using EnhanceMovie and Multiquence. I then saved the video as an AVI file (PICVideo MJPEG Video Codec), and it played well on my computer.

There didn't appear to be any errors when I upload the file to YT, but after it was processed, all I got was a black screen, with some flickering in the upper lefthand corner.

What a waste of time. It took about 40 minutes to complete that upload.

Anyway, I just ran Windows Movie Maker, plopped that AVI file onto the timeline, then saved the video as a WMV file. It came out to only 5MB.

I uploaded that WMV file to YouTube, and the video now appears...

Next time, I will never upload an AVI (with PICVideo codec) to YouTube.
