Twitter Limits SMS Updates

Are you sending Twitter updates to your cell phone via sms text?

Well, you're now limited to receiving 250 sms tweets per week.

This assumes you live outside the US or Canada, and therefore use the +44 762 4801423 UK number to send twitter messages to your cell phone.

I was wondering how they'll be able to continue sending us Pinoys free incoming text messages. Well, even at 250 messages per week, that's still a generous P10,000 (US$233) a month. I'm assuming texts sent from the US to Manila costs P10.00 per text.

If you have colleagues who need to text a fairly large group of people, it would be more cost efficient to post a Twitter message, and have your authorized followers receive the notification via sms text. Even at a fairly large 10 updates per day, that puts your key followers well within the present sms allowance.
