Google Docs

Would you like to use something like Microsoft Office, only for free?

Check out Google Docs (http://docs.google.com)

You can collaborate with others online, whether your file is a document, spreadsheet, presentation, or even a calendar.

One great thing about this is you don't have to worry too much about your USB flash drive. As long as your group has access to the internet, you can store your files online. Of course, if the internet connection in your area is flaky (or even if it's not), it may be a good idea to bring along your USB drive... just in case.

If you do find yourself working in a team whose members responsibly edit a common working document, then online document collaboration may just be the solution for your group.

With the Google Docs Presentation module, you can insert photos. Those images, however, have to be in the computer you're using to access the internet if you wish to upload them to your Google Docs presentation slide. I wonder when they'll allow you to upload a photograph by specifying a URL instead.

You can upload a .PPT file, although be prepared for a long wait (since most Powerpoint files I've seen are quite large).
