WiFi Security

Is your WiFi connection secure? Are you sure?

If you enjoy using the free WiFi connection in various public places in the Philippines, don't go on smugly sipping that cup of coffee. Someone has figured out how to wifi hijack your webmail.

When you log into various services online (i.e., mail, social networking sites), you leave a trail of cookies or text files. WiFi hijackers can use those to fool the online services into thinking that you and that other person are one and the same.

In other words, other people can read your webmail.

These nasty tools are expected to be made public soon. This means the potential for booby-trapped media files has reached at least Yellow Alert status. If WiFi protection tools are not disseminated widely, will we see a demise in popular social media sites?
