Amember Cron Command

Here's the cron command syntax for the Amember membership script.

You can use the following command when setting up your cron job:

For sites hosted in Liquidweb:
/usr/bin/wget -o/dev/null -O- http://example.com/amember/cron.php

For sites hosted in Host4Profit:
/usr/bin/wgetvuser -O - http://example.com/amember/cron.php

Simply change "example.com" to your actual domain name.

Manually, you can try visiting your cron.php web page. But if you want this done every hour on the hour, every day of the week, then you need a cron job. While there are several ways of writing the cron command, I got the above wget commend from techsupport. It sure beats having to experiment and try the different cron commands for Amember.

Those numerous methods, however, may present some problems with Amember cron jobs over at TotalChoiceHosting. But their forum offers a workaround.

If you're planning to install the Amember membership script on your site, don't experiment with all those different cron commands. Go straight to technical support and ask for the right syntax. It saves you time, plus it lets you know how responsive your web host provider's tech support is.
