PLDT MyDSL Connects and DisconnectsIs your PLDT MyDSL Broadband subscription getting disconnected every now and then? It's been that way for almost a week. Sometimes the connection holds for about an hour. Other times, it only lasts a couple of minutes. Downloading large files is next to impossible. Could it be the rains? The DSL disconnection problem started right after we experienced April showers. Anyway, I called 172 to get help from PLDT. A few days later, a couple of guys drive over and they look at the various wires. (One of them took the liberty of looking through my browser's History and even loudly commented about the sites there. Since all he saw were NickJr sites, he exclaimed: "Bata lang ba ang nagco-computer dito?" which translates to: "Is this computer used only by kids?") Anyway, I mentioned "line noise" and they ended up just tightening some things in the splitter box. "Okay na po!" And with that came the promise of "no more line noise." Well, less than 24 hours later, it's the same connect / disconnect PLDT DSL problem. Looks like we are not alone. It's a good thing I didn't agree to another lock-up period of one year. Anyway, as far as this broadband experience goes, one really does need broad patience.
