Globe Visibility: Mobile Internet

Globe offers a mobile internet solution that allows you to fit your regional headquarters in the backseat of your car, go around the world before you reach the office, or keep in touch with the people you're working for... with the power of Globe Visibility, the ultimate in mobile internet.

Globe says they give you unbelievable mobility, which allows you to connect to the internet and download anything you want (photos, music, video streaming), or email and get in touch with people 24 hours a day. You can surf the internet via GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and dial-up with more than 270 WIZ Wi-Fi Hotspots.

How fast is this always-connected-wherever-you-are service? 1.4mbps

While other mobile internet services achieve top speeds of 386 kilobits per second, Globe Visibility gets you speeds of up to 1.4 megabits per second. In other words, 25x faster than dial-up or four times faster than DSL. This means you can download a basic, 4MB music soundfile in 20 seconds via Super3G, instead of the typical 104 seconds via DSL.

For a flat fee of P2,000 per month (plus a one-time application fee of P2,000), you can enjoy unlimited browsing anytime, anywhere. Sign up is good for two years, and you'll get your own HSDPA data card for free.

You can sign up at selected Globe Hubs and Globe Business Centers.

For more information, visit www.betterthan3g.com, dial 211 on your Globe cell phone, or call the Globe Hotline at 730-1000.

I haven't tried the Globe Visibility mobile broadband service yet, but I hope this helps increase internet usage among people based in the Philippines. Perhaps this will also help improve the mindboggling 25,000 students to one internet-enabled computer in certain parts of the country. We'll see...
