Sun Cellular Convert-A-LoadSun Cellular subscribers can now text other networks (SMART, Globe) for as low as P0.71 per SMS text by converting P50 or P25 of your regular load via Sun Convert-a-Load. Convert P25 to get 33 texts to other networks valid for 5 days, or P50 to get 70 sms texts valid for 10 days. To convert, text CAL [space] 25 or and send to 223 After successfully sending that sms text, you will receive a text message requesting you to dial a certain long string of numbers (complete with * and #) within the next 9 days (in the case of CAL 50). Please note that at this point, your balance has already been reduced by P50. You still need to "activate" the P0.71/text feature by calling that long string of numbers. After making that call, you will see on your phone your current balance, and you will receive a text message stating that your CAL is good until a date 10 days from the time you sent CAL 50 to 223. I wonder what will happen if you do this early in the morning. Will you be able to enjoy the CAL 50 for 11 days? Or is there some kind of cut-off (e.g. 12:00noon)? Anyway... It's great to see Sun Cellular offering lower sms texting costs outside the Sun network. Before, it was mostly Sun-to-Sun. It would be great if the major telecoms will get together and offer even lower sms texting and calling costs among their various subscribers, or even a "keep your old number" policy regardless of who the telco is.
