Television In Your Cell Phone

Since people are spending more and more time with their cell phones, that's where their attention is focused.

So, should it come as a surprise that someone is developing a show for cell phone users?

CBS Broadcasting Inc. is developing a made-for-mobile-phone soap opera -- known as a mobisoap -- that is scheduled to be released in the next several months.

The serial show, tentatively titled "Hey, It's Me," will be shown daily on TV-equipped cell phones in three- to five-minute segments and will have its own writers, cast and production team.

And now that a South African newspaper publisher is going to to pay for citizens' submissions, could payment for cell phone TV show submissions be far behind?

Pinoys are creative and can surely come up with a storyline in 3-5 minute chunks. I wonder if this will become an exportable skill. You already have call centers, and perhaps ringtone/cute text message composers.

What about celfonovelas? :-) Let's see if GMA7 or ABS-CBN will try this route...
