Free Long Distance Calls

You can make free overseas calls using your computer and your relative's PC.

Found out about the GizmoProject after listening to Kid Flash X and Manong Guard's podcast over at live@usa.ph.

To make a long distance call for free, both you and your relative need to have computers that have soundcards and microphones, as well as the calling program over at GizmoProject.

I like the voicemail feature which sends the recorded WAV file to your designated email address. I wish they did in MP3 format, though, so that the attached file would be smaller. Anyway, just configure your voicemail to send the attachment to your GMail account (which has a generous amount of free space).

I haven't tried a live PC-to-PC phone call, though. The test call I tried (to myself) had a lot of buzzing noises. The voicemail (sent to myself) did not have any of those noises, though.

Anyway, if you're looking for a highly affordable way to phone your friends and relatives overseas, try the GizmoProject.
