GMail and Antivirus

GMail has a new feature that scans your incoming and outgoing mail for viruses.

If any virus is found, GMail will attempt to clean it. Failing that, the mail is blocked. That means you won't get the attachment or you won't be able to send it out.

I particularly like the scanning of outgoing mail feature. Imagine, you'll be able to protect your reputation because you will greatly lower the chance of emailing someone a virus.

True, others might not like this because sometimes they really have to send a sample virus to their security vendor.

But how often do you need to do that? Besides, Gmail is not the only email service around.

If you need a GMail account, I have lots of invites to give out. Try it out and protect yourself (and your email friends) from viruses and spyware.
