Excel : Rounding Off To Nearest 50 Cents

Are you trying to round-off your Excel spreadsheet numbers to the nearest .50? Here's how.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Let's assume you have the unrounded figure in cell A1.

Here's the formula to round-off that figure to the nearest .50

=FLOOR(A1+0.25,0.5)

Hence, if cell A1 contains 1.6, it will be rounded off to 1.5
while if it contains 1.75 it will be rounded off to 2.

If you wish to round off to the nearest 25 cents:

=FLOOR(A1+0.125,0.25)

Or, to make it more generic:
=FLOOR(A3+ half of the nearest figure, round off to the nearest figure)

If you want the rounded figure in multiples of 50:
=FLOOR(A3+25,50)

I hope you find this Excel formula tip useful.
