Boxer Brian Viloria

Some friends have been asking if Brian Viloria, the country's 35th Boxing World Champion, is a relative.

Since his parents are from Narvacan, and since my grandfather used to talk about relatives in Narvacan and Ilocos Sur, then it is possible that he is a distant relative. I haven't gotten in touch with my grandfather yet, so we'll see.

Friends and some officemates have been kidding me about it, because they say we look similar. Thankfully, they haven't avoided my right arm. :-)

Anyway, let's give three cheers for Philippine boxing. Congratulations to Viloria, Bautista and Pacquiao!
