Yahoo, VoIP and BloggingYahoo is getting deeper into VoIP and blogging. In Yahoo Buys VOIP Provider, Blog Update Service, Matt Hicks writes that "Yahoo Inc. is laying the groundwork to make its instant messaging service talk with the traditional phone networks and to play a bigger role in distributing Weblog updates." Imagine, instead of just communicating via PC-to-PC, you can now have people communicating via PC-to-Telephone (inbound and outbound). Also, with Yahoo!'s purchase of blo.gs, it's not pretty clear that Yahoo believes in the future of blogs and rss feeds. Sometimes, when I read about rss security and bandwidth issues, I wonder if I should just give up on rss. Perhaps we should give it more time. I wonder, though, if blogging and VoIP will take off here in the Philippines. Perhaps in two more years.
