Larger Gmail Email Storage?

Have you visited Gmail lately? The mailbox is growing.

On the left side, under "Don't throw anything away", I saw 2060.3305 megabytes of free email storage.

No, it's now 2060.3320 megabytes and counting. What is Google up to? Can we possibly store more than 2GB of email and file attachments? And even if we did, would we ever search through them?

I'm reminded of those bulky filing cabinets. The ones you go through every now and then. The ones which surprise you: "Hey, I didn't know I put that in there."

The same thing will happen with Gmail. All the messages and file attachments you forgot you sent out via email. The photos, videos, and MP3s. The blog notes you thought were worth noting down. The newspaper articles you copy/pasted and saved.

Then there's Yahoo and their large (and getting larger) email box. And you scramble to sign up with this and that account. You wildly put up dozens of blogs if only to try out these many services.

When will it end? Where are we headed? If we worked and wrote and labored to fill the available space, I wonder if we will have time to read one another...
