Video Search and Video Blogs

I can't believe my ears or my eyes... Google and Yahoo now have Video Search. This will definitely have an impact on video bloggers because people will now be able to find their content.

Google Video Search helps you look for recent TV programs online.

Yahoo Video Search allows you to search for videos across the web.

Someone once said that the web's main advantage over television or radio is text. Searchable text. In other words, if he wanted to listen to audio or watch video, he would rather turn to the radio or television.

For a while there, I wondered how useful all these sound and video files online would be. Let's say you're after a key paragraph in a 36-minute audio or video. How would you find it? With text, simply search. But with video?

I was once resigned to treating an online video library as a "for entertainment only" collection. But with video search, informational or educational online movies will now be more valuable.

I expect more bloggers to put their MP3s and AVI's or MOVs or WMVs online because exposure is no longer limited to "word of mouse." The search engines have done it again.
