Podcasting and Dave WinerDave Winer writes about podcasting and using your iPod, away from your computer. Like when you're busy walking. Or driving. I dunno. It sounds like listening to the radio while you're driving. Then again, the iPod allows you to store sound files from who knows how many "radio stations." If you're just listening to music or the news or other "radio-ey" stuff while driving, then that probably makes podcasting and the iPod look like a souped-up AM/FM radio. If you're listening to training material (on casette tape) while driving, then perhaps podcasting may go beyond just listening to the radio. Except that sometimes, intently listening to a motivational tape while driving can distract you from focusing on the cars and pedestrians around you. What's the future of podcasting? We'll see. Strikes me as a sosyal kind of cable radio. (I hope those entertaining commentaristas of AM radio consider podcasting someday, because I can't get clear access to AM radio everywhere I go. Have you tried listening to DZBB, for example, inside a building with thick walls?) Oh. I have to get an iPod first.
