Los Banos Raid DVD

On February 23, 1945, American paratroopers raided a Japanese internment camp in Los Banos and rescued 2,128 civilian internees and 12 U.S. Army nurses. It was a daring land, sea and air attack at dawn, whose story was explored in a History Channel program "Rescue at Dawn: The Los Banos Raid."

Kenneth Tate, a driver with the 511th parachute regiment, helped rescue the internees who were emaciated from their three-year captivity. "All they wanted to do was touch us," recalls Tate.

If you missed the TV show broadcasted on the History Channel in February 2004, you can still get a DVD of the Los Banos Raid.
