What are Blogs?

Back from the Cebu trip, and I met someone from the web design world who asked "what are blogs?"

For starters, you can check out An Introduction To Weblogs by Diego Doval.

Blog, web page, online journal, time stamps, arranged in reverse chronological order, write about anything or everything, no fixed writing style, can be highly personal, engaging or even downright boring. Can have thinly-veiled attempts at online marketing. Can be made worse when the blogger tries to be witty.

Why do people write or read blogs? To find information. To share information. To have fun. To feel connected.
