Converged Cellphones To Overtake PDAs?Some folks prefer to have a separate cellphone and PDA, but my friend Larry mentioned that "combined" cellphones have hands-free features that allow you to speak with someone while punching the buttons on your cellphone. Patrick Seitz: "Meanwhile, the future looks bleak for unconnected PDAs. Researcher Gartner Inc. reported Monday that PDA shipments fell 7.3% to 2.5 million units in the second quarter vs. the year-earlier quarter. Gartner blamed poor worldwide economic conditions, low consumer confidence and a steep decline in the Chinese market." What can outpace the sale of PDAs? Maybe this will make PDAs even more affordable in the future. There's an advantage to being a third-mover when it comes to technology.
