Farm Estates, Nusa Dua, Leisure Farms

Maybe someday I'll get to live in a place where my simple farm lies just a few steps away from the front door. So far, there are two places in the Philippines where you can try it. I just hope there's a good internet connection there...

Toward an 'earthy' lifestyle (Phil Daily Inquirer)
"Sometimes they're called "leisure farms," other times, "farm estates." The one thing they have in common is that they are a deviation from the house-and-lot concept of a conventional real estate business.Instead of urging you to just build a home on the lot you've bought, these developers now encourage, even require, that vegetables, crops and trees be grown in them."

Filinvest Land Corporation 2001 Annual Report -- Operating Highlights
"In the pipeline for 2002 is the 200-hectare Nusa Dua Farm Estate, FLI's initial venture into agricultural land development. To be located in Tanza, Cavite, Nusa Dua is eyed to tap into the niche market of both the professional grower and the lifestyle farmer..."

Leisure Farms, Tagaytay (Target completion: Year 2005)
"Situated in Lemery, Batangas, one hundred sixteen hectatres of wide, rolling terrain, LEISURE FARMS TAGAYTAY is the first hobby farming community and agro-tourism site in the country. It integrates residential resort features with high-value modern farming."

Playing With Farm (ManilaTimes)
"A 30-minute drive from Tagaytay, Leisure Farms is undergoing a three-year development plan in order to become a fully developed agro-tourism area. Aside from the farm lots which will be offered to weekend farmers, the site will also feature a clubhouse, swimming pool, a kids’ farm, produce market, agricultural training school, restaurants, a town center, aviary and butterfly park, a linear lake, and jogging paths, among others."
