Love's Labor's Lost by Repertory Philippines

Repertory Philippines will be staging William Shakespeare's Love's Labor's Lost beginning September 15, 2007 till October 7, 2007. It will be directed by Bart Guingona.

This play tells the story of the King of Navarre and his followers, who intend to devote themselves to study for three years but find themselves distracted by the Princess of France and her entourage. In this version of the play's staging, the setting will be in the 1980s, at Manila's University Belt, in the days of Bagets, Madonna, and Duran Duran.

Did you grow up in the 1980s? I did. Our high school days were the age of humongous shoulder pads, big hoop earrings, and even bigger hairstyles and hairdos. So if you were a teen in the 1980s, you might find this version of the play very amusing and perhaps, a bit nostalgic.

Who are included in the cast? Epy Quizon, Nic Manahan, and Cris Villonco, among others, ably supported by seasoned stage performers like Ana Bitong and Bonggoy Manahan.
