Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

I see streamers and ads everywhere promoting Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). What is it? Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is said to be the use of "increased atmosphere pressure" for medical therapy or for healing.

St. Luke's Medical Center here in Metro Manila offers HBOT. In their ads, they say that the use of oxygen will hasten the healing of wounds -- whether you be a diabetic patient or a burn or crash victim. St. Luke's now has a hyperbaric oxygen chamber which meets US safety standards. Oxygen is used to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels to speed up the healing process.
