The Power Source

Last night, it rained quite heavily in Metro Manila, complete with lightning and thunder. The lights went out several times as we were eating dinner.

The lights would go off for a few minutes and then power would be restored. That happened thrice or four times. Once the power went back on permanently, we heaved a sigh of relief. "Ay salamat, naayos na." (Thank goodness, it got fixed.)

Ali: Who fixed it?

Mommy: Meralco.

Ali: Who is Meralco?

Mommy: The one who gives us power.

Ali: God?

I had to explain that I was talking about electricity, another kind of power. Then again, Ali's one bright kid. She knows the Real Power Source. God bless all of you this weekend. Have a good work week ahead. Power to all of us. =)
