Kuala Lumpur Trip: Catholic Mass Schedules on a FridayWe wanted to hear mass on a Friday, May 6 in Kuala Lumpur. Thankfully, our KL-based, Pinoy friend, Roquito, is just the perfect person to ask for such schedules. There's St. John's Cathedral which is about 20 minutes away from New World hotel at lunchtime. On Fridays, mass is at 1pm. We caught the morning mass, though, at Casa de Fatima at Brickfields (near La Salle School) at 6:30am. We left the hotel at about 6:15am or thereabouts and we were right on time. It was quite hard to get a cab coming back to the hotel. We had to move to another spot after waiting for a few minutes in front of the school. We were finally able to get a cab after we moved to a main road nearby. One thing we learned about taxis in KL -- there is no such thing as a standard meter. Going to the church, the driver looked like he took a straightforward route and we were charged RM 15. Going home, we thought the driver was circling around but he got us back to the hotel at half the cost at RM 7.50. Oh well, the adventures of being a tourist.
