The Trip to the Taj - 2 - Akbar's Tomb

At 10:45am, we arrived at Sikandra (also part of Agra), where we have Akbar's Tomb. Akbar was the 3rd king of the Mughal Empire or Dynasty and was considered the greatest of all kings.

He became a king at the age of 13.5 years old, was uneducated, but was able to unite the country. He had 3 wives (Hindu, Moslem, and Christian). Like most of the structures that we saw around India, red sandstone and white marble were used mostly for Akbar's tomb. To see the grave, we had to remove our shoes. So as you go around touring, it is best to wear socks - so at least, your feet don't get too dirty.
