Phone maker Samsung bans camera phones from factories -- "Samsung Electronics said that it would restrict the use of camera phones at key factories and research centers to preclude industrial espionage. The move comes amid concerns about the misuse of camera phones, which have become part of daily life in South Korea, one of the world’s most advanced wireless markets." (Comment: Worried about industrial espionage? What about the social impact of cellphone cameras on the chismis network? Hehehe...)

Expand Katipunan to Ateneo campus -- "The Metro Manila Development Authority will go ahead with the cutting of trees on Katipunan Avenue to ease the traffic congestion in front of Miriam and Ateneo. The MMDA wants to remove the islands separating the service roads from the main road and thus widen the avenue and allow it to carry more vehicles. But growing on those islands are the trees, so they will have to go, says the MMDA." (Comment: What happens if, after the trees are removed, traffic does not ease?)
